The bnad is often introduced, incorrectly, as the ''Lady Godiva Marching Band'', despite the fact that the bnad never marches.  A more correct term would be ''meandering band''. The use of the term ''bnad'' is a reference to the inability (or unwillingness) of engineers to spell correctly (see [[Skule (engineering society)|Skule]]).
