The 23-member, student run, Skule™ StageBand performs big band jazz to great acclaim at many Skule™ events. These include the most celebrated dances of the year (Cannonball, Gradball, and Moment), as well as Suds, and the EngSci Dinner Dance. The Skule™ StageBand has even started touring, adding a stop at Ein-Stein's Pub, Grossman's Tavern, Supermarket in Kensington, and Hart House's Arbor Room to its' schedule of shows in recent years. In 2023, Stage Band joined the rest of Skule Music in celebrating 150 years of UofT engineering by performing at the Skule 150 Gala. The Skule™ Stage Band was established in 1983 by Cliff Alexander, Danny Gargaro, and Kent Fletcher with help from Mr. Malcolm McGrath of the Skule Alumni Association. It has since blossomed into over 40 years of talented alumni.
The Skule™ StageBand plays a wide variety of tunes including swing, latin, ballads and funk. These songs include both crowd-pleasers and technically challenging tunes, from Count Basie's charts to intense Animé themes like Tank! Recently, Stage Band has included numbers custom-arranged in house.
