Engineers Without Borders or EWB U of T empowers and unites individuals and organizations within the University of Toronto, Canada and Sub-Saharan Africa to create beneficial global development and social & systemic change by sharing ideas, educating and taking meaningful action to make a positive impact as leaders. We focus our chapter's initiatives to address the root causes of poverty and inequality, as defined as two of the United Nations sustainable development goals. Breaking down politics, food systems, global engineering, and assisting in the development of youth engagement, indigenous allyship, local poverty alleviation and fair trade is what brings the EWB U of T community together. Despite the many positive changes and actions EWB performs, among the Skule community it is often seen as a club mainly used for resume padding. There are many meetings whose main objective is to decide when to have the next meeting.
