He was the 9th dean between 1979 and 1986. He recently passed away in 2011. Prior to working at the University of Toronto, he was an Assistant Professor at the Nova Scotia Technical College. In 1955, he joined the University of Toronto as an Associate Professor and was later promoted to Professor in 1964.
