She had the noble task of healing injured members of Skule with her bite, until recently when the concerns were raised by the faculty about the python's impact on the university's public perception, and the Skule Patrol Python was forced to retire. 			Skule Patrol was started as part of Orientation sometime around 1994, in part to ensure that the engineering community would be safer and more inclusive, following changes to how Orientation presented Skule and engineering to new students. Skule Patrol worked with the engineering Women's Committee at the time, described in a September 6, 1994 ''The Varsity'' article by Kate Wickens as follows:
