			Skule Patrol has retained the structure of two Co-Directors leading the directorship. They have team of Head Patrollers that function as execs in addition to Head Patroller duties acting as a point of contact between Patrollers and the Co-Directors, and during Orientation they oversee F!rosh groups and the Patrollers assigned to those groups. Skule Patrollers are assigned to designated groups and events during F!rosh Week, and during the school year, sign up to patrol at various events at which Skule Patrol is requested.

			Skule Patrol was started as part of Orientation sometime around 1994, in part to ensure that the engineering community would be safer and more inclusive, following changes to how Orientation presented Skule and engineering to new students. Skule Patrol worked with the engineering Women's Committee at the time, described in a September 6, 1994 ''The Varsity'' article by Kate Wickens as follows:
