About Us

The ECE Club Executive Team is made up of dedicated and enthusiastic students from the Electrical and Computer Engineering undergraduate programs. Its goal is to provide all students in the Electrical and Computer Engineering disciplines with the best experience that U of T life has to offer. The Club represents its student body to the Faculty and Student Council, making sure that students' needs and opinions are voiced.

The ECE Club strives to help students achieve industry relations. Sponsors such as Microsoft and Motorola provided information and materials such as software and books for our students.

During the year, the ECE club has fun activities to counteract even the most severe cases of study sickness. We hold Smokers and Movie Nights throughout the year, and we maintain the ECE Common Rooms where you can go anytime to relax, watch TV, play Foosball, or play arcade games. Our classic fall Dinner Dance is the perfect opportunity to show your dancing and socializing skills, and the infamous annual Chariot Race is the time when all ECEs gather to defend our department's honour in armour and tractor grease. Last, but not least, the senior years' field trips to cities like New York City and Montréal will never let you forget what partying with your friends is all about!

ECE Spaces

Common Room

ECE Club has one common room - located in SF B650. The door has a secret passcode that is sent by e-mail to all ECE undergraduate students.

The ECE Common Room is a great place to hang-out during your free time. The ECE Common Room has a 50" plasma screen, an Xbox console with tens of games, a Foosball table, a microwave oven, and the cheapest pop on campus at 75₵.

ECE Design Centre

The ECE Design Centre in SF B520 offers DE2 boards and other electrical equipment for student use. It is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The Design Centre is usually closed on weekends.

ECE Computer Labs

The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering maintains several computer labs for ECE students. The ECE labs that are open 24/7 are found in BA 3128, GB 243, GB 251, SF 2201, and SF 2204. For a full listing, see here.

To get into GB 243, GB 251, SF 2201, or SF 2204, you must enter a passcode that only ECE students should know; the passcode for these four labs the same. To log into the ECE lab computers, use your UTORid and student number.

ECE Study Hall

The ECE Study Hall is used primarily for studying by ECE undergraduate students. It has large tables, some leather chairs/couches, and a whiteboard. It is particularly suited for studying with a group of people. Also, the 1st/2nd year tutors (hired by the department to sit in the study hall during certain hours to answer any question you may have) can be found there.

The ECE Study Hall is located in BA 1120 (first floor of Bahen, in the same hallway as the elevators near the front doors). Use your TCard to swipe in.
